Please be patient as we work through these unusual times and as we receive new information and guidelines from the Ministry of Education and Hastings Prince Edward Public Health. 2019-2020 Report Cards

2019-2020 final report cards will be available for elementary students and parents to access online at the end of the school day on June 23, 2020 and for secondary students and parents to access online at the end of the school day on June 26, 2020.

Instructions on how to access report cards

1. Click on the connectEd for Students image

2. Login with your student username and login. This username and password sequence is the same one that the student uses when at school to access the school WIFI network or when using a school computer/laptop. The username will look something like this: AB123CD If you are unsure of the password, try using the child’s birthdate in the format yyyymmdd (e.g. 20061225)

If the password does not work, please contact your classroom teacher or school principal and they can easily reset the password for you.

3. Once logged in, click on the Personal menu option on the top menu bar and slide down to the Multimedia option. Then, click on the link to the provincial report card PDF

If you have more than one student in the school, you will need to log in to each individual account to access each report card.

School board and 99.3 County FM partner to celebrate students

June 8, 2020—The Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board is pleased to announce that it has partnered with radio station 99.3 County FM to broadcast Grade 8 graduation ceremonies for Prince Edward County elementary schools.

Transitioning to high school is a momentous occasion for students. While the COVID-19 pandemic has taken away some aspects of the traditional year-end ceremonies, the school board and radio station are proud to recognize these students in a unique way.

The 80-minute broadcast will begin at 12:10 PM on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 on 99.3 and will be repeated at 6:10 PM that evening. Approximately 160 Grade 8 students are graduating from five schools:

Athol South-Marysburgh Public School
CML Snider School
Kente Public School
Sophiasburgh Central School
Prince Edward Collegiate Institute

The event will feature messages from the following people:

Tina Elliott, Superintendent of Education
Principals from each school

Need a COVID-19 face mask?

PECI makes poverty history and has you covered!

PECI sells COVID-19 masks

Prince Edward Collegiate’s Make Poverty History Club (MPH) is proud to announce its latest #OneTeam fundraising project: the sale of Panther Pride fabric face masks to help to flatten the local COVID-19 infection curve, protect vulnerable people in our community, and raise money for our local food banks.

Masks are Canadian-sourced, and made of anti-microbial, hypoallergenic microfiber. All profits from these sales will be donated to the Wellington Storehouse and Picton United Church Food Banks. The masks are an around-the ear design, with a soft polyester lycra binding, and a comfortable fabric area 5” x 7” in size. All masks are colour sublimated in PECI garnet with the distinctive Panther logo. Delivery is expected within the next few weeks, and advance orders are welcome.

Members of the public can support this fundraiser by purchasing a PECI Panther face mask for $15.00 ($25.00 for two). We are excited to invite all of our Panther families to an evening Event at PECI. On October 17th, 2019 we will be hosting our Fall Open House.

There will be a family BBQ for all families from 5pm-6pm.

Elementary classrooms and teachers will be available for classroom visits from 5:30pm-7:00pm.

Secondary parent/teacher interviews from 5:00pm-7:00pm.

College and University Fair in Gym B from 6:00pm-8:00pm.

We look forward to welcoming all of our families to this Community School Event!

Panther Families Update: Helpful Reminders

Panther Families Update: One sleep left until the 2018-19 school year begins. It has been an incredibly busy weekend finalizing all of the preparations as we look forward to welcoming the first classes ever in our K-12 community school setting. The following is a list of helpful reminders for our school community in order to allow our learning space to be productive, safe and maximize opportunity.

Entry/Exit Points:

All Secondary students will enter/exit through Entrances A, B, C1 and W.

Elementary bus students will enter/exit through Entrance D until the new handrail is installed on Entrance C—at that time, it will become the main entrance for elementary students.

Parents dropping off elementary students may do so at Entrance E—also known as our ‘Kiss & Drop’ or at the main office through Entrance A. Please refer to the map and photos included for more detail.

Classroom Teacher Assignments and Student Timetables:

We are fortunate to have a significant number of new registrations joining our Panther family throughout all grades and we have spent the weekend balancing classes. Classroom teacher assignments for elementary will be shared on the first day. Students will be greeted from the bus and directed to gathering areas as previously described. Should it be raining in the morning (and the weather looks perfect now), we will have our students who plan to gather outside relocated to the cafeteria for to meet their teachers.

Secondary timetables will be distributed in homerooms. Students may locate their homeroom from walls either outside the main office OR outside the cafeteria by the staffroom.

Student Parking:

Parking will be extremely limited this year and by parking permit only in order that we have adequate room for staff. There will be a few Student Parking spaces on campus and those will be assigned by application/need only. Parking Permit applications will be available at the main office and online beginning the first day of classes. Students are encouraged to take the bus those who must drive are encouraged to park across at the Community Soccer field lot for the first week of school while the improvements to the parking lot are completed and as we work through the assignment of permits. Vehicles onsite without a pass are subject to being towed at the owners expense. Thank you for your cooperation.
