Make Poverty History is a student-run group that was formed in 2005 by students enrolled in the Grade 12 World Issues course. Through the organization Free the Children, the students in Make Poverty History support the Enerlerai Primary School; a small school consisting of 96 students in Enelerai, Kenya.

Every year, Make Poverty History members hold numerous fundraisers to help pay for the school's teacher, classroom equipment and other items that assist in the development of the community. The Make Poverty History Bike-A-Thon is a popular event that is held annually in the main foyer of PECI.

Other annual events include a Holiday Dinner and Lucky Locker Lottery Draws. New to Make Poverty History is the MPH Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt, in which teams of students are given clues leading to the location of hidden eggs, the team with the most eggs at the end, wins! Also new to MPH is the Chim-Chim-Chimney Coin Drive, which is a semester long challenge in which homerooms try to raise $50 in spare change to provide a chimney for a family in Enelerai.
