Prerequisites

In Ontario, many high school courses have prerequisites, which are courses that need to be completed before enrolling in the next-level course. For example, if a student wants to take the University Grade 11 Math course (MCR3U1), they must first complete the Grade 10 Academic Math course (MPM2D1). These prerequisites are in place to ensure students have the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in the next course.  Please note there are no prerequisites for grade 9 courses.

It’s important for students and families to review course prerequisites when planning the student's high school program. This helps ensure that students are on the right path for their academic and career goals. If you have any questions about specific prerequisites or how to plan your child’s course selections, feel free to contact the school for guidance.
