Food for Learning
PECI offers a wide variety of health food choices for students who are hungry. There are several places for any student in need to grab a snack.
Elementary
We have two recesses each day, and students go outside for both! If it's lightly raining, we will still go outside, so it's important for students to dress appropriately for the weather. A rain jacket and rain boots can make outdoor play a lot more enjoyable when it’s wet.
If there’s lightning or heavy rain, we’ll stay inside for recess, but we always try to be outside as much as possible.
During the winter months, we experience some very cold days, so we encourage families to send their children with warm outdoor clothing, including boots, snow pants, hats, mittens, and jackets. Please be sure to label all items with your child’s name. If you need help with warm clothing for your child, don’t hesitate to reach out to the school.
Our goal is to enjoy the outdoors and get some fresh air whenever we can!
Secondary
Secondary students have the option to enjoy their lunch in the school cafeteria or leave the premises during lunchtime. We encourage students to make the most of their lunch break, and for those interested in staying active, intramural activities are available during this time as well.
Please remind your child to be mindful of the school’s policies when they plan to leave the school grounds.
